Selon le Centre syrien pour l'information et la liberté d'expression, Razan Ghazzawi, libérée dimanche à 22 h 30" (21 h 30, heure française) contre une caution de 15.000 livres syriennes (soit environ 230 euros, 300 dollars), doit être jugée pour avoir "affaibli le sentiment national", "créé une organisation qui vise à changer le statut social et économique de l'Etat" et "avivé les dissensions confessionnelles". Elle est passible de trois à quinze ans de prison.
Les autorités syriennes avaient arrêté Razan Ghazzawi à la frontière jordanienne le 4 décembre, alors qu'elle se rendait à Amman pour participer à un atelier sur la liberté de la presse dans le monde arabe.
Elle anime depuis 2009 un blog "Razaniyyat" , et y a vivement critiqué le régime syrien.

According to the Syrian Centre for Media and Free Expression, "Razan Ghazzawi was released from detention at 10:30 pm (2030 GMT) Sunday on bail of 15,000 Syrian pounds (around 300 dollars, 230 euros). She was referred to court and charged on three counts of "establishing an organisation that aims to change the social and economic status of the state," weakening national sentiment", and "stirring racial and religious dissent". She could face three to 15 years in jail.
Syrian authorities arrested Razan Ghazzawi at the border with Jordan on 4 December as she headed to Amman to take part in a workshop on press freedom in the Arab world.
She has been blogging on her "Razaniayat" website since 2009 and has expressed strong criticism of the Syrian regime
